The first Cryptanthus Species were discovered in eastern Brazil about 1831. Cryptanthus, also known as Earth Stars, earned their name due to their foliage shape. The reverse of the famous Cryptanthus 'It,' with rose-toned cream & orange stripes in the center of the glossy leathery leaf rather than the white to pink edge. One of the most beautifully toned and larger Hybrids of this family. This plant typically attains sizes of between 10" - 12" across. Keep the medium moist at all times. Cryptanthus suffer if they dry out for extended periods.
