Neoregelia 'Yang' is a cross of (carolinae x carcharodon Variegated). In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang describes how apparently opposite or contrary forces are actually complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Chester has taken these names and applied them to two clones of the same lineage, one Albo-Marginated (yin) and one Variegated (Yang). Both are very large growers that have the size and form of carcharodon but the coloring of carolinae.
