Neoregelia 'Leopard' was introduced by Chester Skotak and is rarely seen offered for sale. A unique form of carcharodon, this Cultivar has the intense dark green leaf surface of 'Tiger' and the intense maroon horizontal banding but with the addition of the large spotting reminiscent of a leopard, hence the name, Neoregelia 'Leopard'. It is believed to be a form of carcharodon but some think it may possibly be a form of pascoaliana. Found at the base of rocks above a rubbish dump in Santa Maria Magdalena, RJ, Brazil, this specimen can become a "GIANT" attaining mature sizes of up to 24" to 28" across.
