Neoregelia 'Heart of Darkness' is a cross of ((carolinae x concentrica) x 'Avalon') x (carolinae x concentrica). Introduced by Dennis Cathcart, 'Heart of Darkness' is a Neoregelia Hybrid that grows up to 24" across. Its leaves are about 3" wide are a deep green with a central white variegation. This bromeliad gets a dark purple-red in the center that fades towards the leave tips and speckles across the lower leaves. 'Heart of Darkness' thrives in warm temperatures and filtered light.
