Aechmea zebrina 'Pink' is a cultivar of the species aechmea zebrina. Aechmea zebrinais native to the Amazon lowlands of Ecuador and Columbia. The 'Pink' designation is due to the fact that unlike the common variety, this cultivar has pink bracts rather than orange. It is a very striking plant similar to chantinii with its stately upright rosette and silvery-white heavy banding. Zebrinatends to get larger than chantinnii, up to 36' tall in some cases. Even so, this very special cultivar makes a great candidate for mounting in or on tree surfaces.
