There are two varieties of Aechmea 'Freckles' in circulation. There is much lore circulating as to the origins of this beauty but two facts are inescapable. This variety, from the collection of Wally Berg, is said to be a Cultivar of Aechmea organensis and has a beautiful bright green leaf color sprinkled with brown freckles. It is also sometimes referred to as Aechmea Fosters 'Freckles'. The other variety often referred to as Aechmea Florida 'Freckles' has the same overall appearance but will blush an overall reddish-pink color when grown in strong filtered light. We offer both varieties.
