Aechmea caudata 'Santa Catarina'

Aechmea caudata ''Santa Catarina'' gets its name from a town in Brazil where this unusual Cultivar was first found. It is a most unusual yet striking form of Aechmea caudata. Having a form more like a Neoregelia than that of an Aechmea, this Cultivar has caused many a second glance. It's broad leaf with blunted leaf end combined with the deep blue to almost black leaf tips and spots make this almost unique in the Bromeliad kingdom. Likes very intense filtered light for best coloring. Averages 14" -16" across.

Multiple plant clump shown. Buyer receives one offset.
