2016 will be an exciting time here at Bromeliad Paradise. That is because we have just acquired over 1000 new bromeliads to add to our on-line offerings. The stock was acquired from a Fort Myers, Florida based nursery and internet provider who has recently left the business. The stock we acquired includes rare and unique hybrids as well as many standard favorites. Plants from the genus’s of Neoregelia, Aechmea, Hoenbergia, Bilbergia, Quesnelia, Cryptanthus, as well as many new bigenerics will be added to our on-line inventory.

Among the plants acquired are many of Chester Skotak’s hybrids as well as new hybrids that have yet to be introduced to the marketplace. Especially exciting are the many new Aechmea chantinii hybrids that will be offered. Among the chantinii hybrids are some beautiful bright red specimens that are sure to be extremely popular. Also among the hybrids are many unusual Hoenbergias with spectacular shape and color. As for large specimens, there are many new blanchetiana cultivars as well as hybrids showing colors not yet seen in this category.

Last but not least are the many new and exciting Neoregelia hybrids. We will soon be introducing around fifty newly named hybrids in the Neoregelia genus. Hybrids that will not be available anywhere else. In this category are many horizontally banded specimens in colors that cover the spectrum.

A Lafayette, Louisiana native and petroleum engineer, Don Beadle revolutionized the long ignored Billbergia genus of bromeliads.  Don’s love affair with Billbergias began when he was building his business, Macero Minerals in Corpus Christi, Texas. He and his neighbor, John Anderson began a friendship that eventually began his path into his bromeliad passion.
