Vriesea hieroglyphica X fosterianais an absolutely stunning hybrid. For overall form and color, it is hard to find a nicer plant. The hieroglyphic banding is accentuated by the beautiful red to pink blush that is concentrated in the center cup fanning out across the plant. This color is usually much more intense than the pictures depict. It is a somewhat large plant growing up to 20" tall to 24" wide. This hybrid Vriesea likes strong filtered light to maintain best color and form but prefers shady, cool and dry to hot, sunny and overly wet. More Vrieseas are killed by overwatering than all other causes combined,
