Neoregelia 'Stormy Desert' is what appears to be a hybid of unknown origin. What can be said is that it is a plant of very pleasing appearance. The older shaded leaves tend toward an olive color while the top leaves are an intense purple with some light spotting of the leaf surface. With it's tight rosette and overall pleasant shape, it displays its best color when provided with a good source of strong filtered light. A medium to large grower averaging 16" - 19" upon maturity.
