Aechmea pectinata is a Species endemic to southeastern Brazil, from Rio de Janeiro State south to Santa Catarina. Although this plant has a lackluster Inflorescence, during the period of Inflorescence, it's leaves blush an intense red or sometimes reddish-orange as an attractant to pollinators. Its rosette can grow up to 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide and has medium green leaves that are leathery to the touch, but have sharp spikes along their edges.
