The first Cryptanthus Species were discovered in eastern Brazil about 1831. Cryptanthus, also known as Earth Stars, earned their name due to their foliage shape. An absolutely stunning plant with sharp banding an dramatic dark brown to almost black base color w/striking silver bars across each leaf. Dramatic colors enhance the beauty of this banded family member and make it the best selling Cryptanthus at Bromeliad Paradise. This plant typically attains sizes of between 10" - 14" across. Keep the medium moist at all times.Cryptanthus suffer if they dry out for extended periods.
