Vriesea fosteriana 'Red Chestnut' is a Cultivar named for its intense chestnut brown coloration. This old favorite sports a light to intense reddish-brown overall blush compared to standard varieties of fosteriana. This is a very popular cultivar that is becoming harder and harder to find. This Vriesea can grow quite large with a good regimen of time release fertilizer. Averages 24" across and 20" high.
