Tillandsia tectorum

Tillandsia tectorum is a species native to Ecuador and Peru. It is typically found along the dry coastal foothills where rainfall is scarce but fog and morning dew is plentiful to keep this plant well watered. The long white fuzzy scales (trichomes) are very efficient in collecting moisture and keeping the plant well nourished and well hydrated. Frequent mistings are beneficial between bi-weekly watering. I have personally seen these plants grow quite large (up to 12" across) when given the proper conditions and enough time to grow and multiply. A highly unusual and popular Tillandsia that is excellent for mounting.

Buyer receives a large plant approximately 5"- 8" across.
