Aechmea 'Roberto Menescal' is named and registered by Chester Skotak for it's original grower, Roberto Menescal, Aechmea 'Roberto Menescal' is one of the most highly sought after bromeliads. 'Roberto Menescal', is a Variegated Cultivar of a dark form of chantinii from a batch of tissue cultured plants from the lab of Rolf Zornig of Sao Paulo, Brazil. What makes it so special are it's central Variegated stripes of cream and pink on leaf top, with intense burgundy red on leaf undersides. This plant can grow to very large sizes of up to 24" - 30" tall and 18" wide. As this plant comes from very tropical habitat, it is more sensitive to cold than most Aechmeas.
