Orthophytum gurkeniiis a terrestrial species from Brazil. This very colorful and interesting species has brown to almost black leaf color with heavy silver zonation or banding almost resembling the skin of a snake, When grown in insufficient light, the leaf coloring will revert to an olive green color. The plant will average a width of about 6" at maturity but due to its habit of growing in clusters will appear to be quite larger.
