Aechmea chrysocoma is a species endemic to Brazil.Very little information seems to exist on this stealth little species, It makes a hardy addition to the landscape and can take a fair amount of direct sun if given ample time to root. It is heavily covered with thick trichomes making it a nice whitish-grey with a purple hue. A medium to large Aechmea averaging 24" tall at maturity. Inflorescence is somewhat less than showy but bright yellow-orange and long lasting nonetheless.
