Billbergia 'Fire Opal' is a cross of 'Domingos Martins' x 'Strawberry'. Although this hybrid has been around awhile, it is still one of the most beautiful Billbergias in cultivation. 'Fire Opal'as the name implies, radiates an intense color like the gem. And a gem it truly is with the wonderful white mottling on a basic green leaf that is infused with a red fire throughout it's throat that makes it just dazzle! Give this one a good strong filtered light source for optimum color. A medium sized plant averaging about 14" tall at maturity.
